Critical narrowband: The user perspective
23 & 24 June 2021
This special two-day event focussed on current and future deployments of TETRA and DMR solutions, looking specifically from an operational perspective.

Use cases from around the world illustrated how the technology is being effectively used across multiple sectors. The conference also examined what lessons can be learned from challenging situations that haven’t necessarily gone to plan, in order to improve operational strategy going forward.

Users of the technology shared ideas and perspectives on topics including:

  • Narrowband across the globe: How and why are networks being deployed, and what lessons can be learnt going into the future?
  • Making the most of the technology: Effective communication strategies in the field, delivered by those on the frontline.
  • Evolution or revolution? How will the TETRA standard evolve in the coming years, in relation to data services, security, hybridisation and so on?
  • Selecting the right option: Assessing the needs of each organisation and procuring the appropriate solution

Achieving maximum performance from existing critical communications networks - session sponsored by Sepura

Peter Hudson, Chief Technology Officer, Sepura

Critical communications users and suppliers are continuing to work cooperatively to expand the capabilities offered by TETRA networks.

Increasingly, user organisations can deploy mission critical applications on existing communications infrastructure, enhancing efficiency and user safety to make a real difference to their operations.

Organisations can use applications to automate standard tasks, incorporate software and programming updates and reduce unnecessary programming tasks, reducing radio handling in the process. The ability to programme devices wirelessly further enhances this process.

This presentation will cover:

·       Why major forces continue to upgrade their TETRA devices

·       Applications and data benefits and current capabilities

·       Adding data solutions to existing networks

·       Developing sustainable procurement

·       Maintaining security standards

·       The ‘art of the possible’; future proofing solutions and further development opportunities
